75 trafficking victims return home from India

Jessore Correspondent :A total of 75 trafficking victims returned home through Benapole frontier on Thursday evening. Bangladeshis went to India in search of better jobs and treatment purposes with the help of human traffickers several times, said Binoy Krishna Mallick, Executive Director, Rights Jessore. Binoy Krishna Mallick told The New Nation that the Bangladeshis comprising 73 women and 2 children went to India in search of better jobs and treatment purposes several times and were picked up by the police. The Bangladeshis were taken to shelter homes of Rescue Foundation in Bombay and Punay in India and then taken to Bangladesh through Benapole Land Port on Thursday evening. Of the total, Rights Jessore received 44 women along with 2 children while Bangladesh National Women Lawyers Association received 29 women after having formalities at Petrapole and Benapole Land Ports. Bangladeshis started entering Benapole Land Port at around 6pm although they reached at Petrapole Land Port in India at around 12:30pm, Binoy added. Concerned officials including Binoy Krishna Mallik and Nasina Begum of BNWLA were present at that time.
