A tense situation has been prevailing in a garments factory in the port city following the closure of factory without paying salary, allowances.
Police and eye witnesses sources said the workers of SK Garments in Changaon area under Chandgaon thana suddenly closed the factory yesterday without paying the outstanding and current wages rather not giving previous notice.
A sources said the disputes of payment of arrear salary and allowances is continuing for the last months but the management without giving notice to the workers closed down the factory from yesterday.
An unreliable sources said the management was supposed to pay the wages to the workers yesterday but the workers found that the main gate of the factory is closed when they came to work. Instantly, the workers launched agitations in front of the factory gate .
Assistant commissioner of Panchalaish zone of CMP Jahangir Alam confirmed the matter of the closure of the factory but police is trying to bring the situation under control.
