Tributes paid to Bangabandhu

The newly elected President of Rangamati District Awami League and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing ommittee on food ministry Dipankar Talukder on Tuesday paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
After laying the wreath, Dipankar Talukder stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.
Later, he offered doa seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful night of August 15, 1975, reports BSS.
A total of 600 leaders and workers of Rangamati District Awami League and allied organizations including Rangamati District Awami League General Secretary Haji Md. Musa Matbar, chairman of Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board and former Vice President of Rangamati District Awami League Nikhil Kumar Chakma, among others, were present.
