When she was only three years old Tomalika Karmaker started her acting career. She was also winner in 1978 and 1980 as Best Dancer to perform in dance, acting and recitation in Notun Kuri. So, her journey in the field of acting was earlier.
As a child actress, she first acted in Bangladesh Betar 30 years ago. Later she became engaged with acting in TV plays and theatre.
In the golden times of her career, Tomalika worked in TV and theatre plays simultaneously. Besides these, she also acted in several movies.
She got the National Film Award for acting in big screen. Due to giving more time to TV, theatre and movies she could not get the scope more to work in radio.
After a break of 30 years, Tomalika is acting in a serial titled Reba O Taar Biral in radio. Produced by Syeda Farida Ferdousi Jatri and scripted by Tareq Manzur, Professor of Bangla Department of University of Dhaka Tomalika took part recording of the 56-episode serial recently.
While sharing her feelings in this regard Tomalika told this correspondent, “After a break of 30 years to work in radio I really became emotional. I recalled many of my childhood memories during that time. I am grateful to them who invited me to act in this serial. I really enjoy working the serial. I request listeners of radio to enjoy the serial.”
Producer Jatri informed that the serial is to be broadcasted on Betar next month. It will be also listened on mobile 106FM. Duration of each episode of the serial is 15 minutes, which will be broadcasted every Saturday at 9:45am.
