Staff Reporter :Law enforcers in separate drives picked up 11 carjackers and snatchers from different areas in the capital on Wednesday night.They arrested five carjackers and seized two stolen cars, fake pay order slips, forged papers and Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) seals, said Krisnapad Roy, Deputy Commissioner of DB of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). The arrested persons have been identified as Iqbal Hossain alias Tanim, Md Zabed, Mushrekin Ahmed Rabbi alias Jubaraj, Ali Hossain and Md Mohsin, the DB official said. Meanwhile, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) claimed to have detained six persons of an ‘organised gang of snatchers with a stolen car. The elite force also recovered two pistols, huge amount of ammunition and sharp weapons, RAB’s Media Wing Commander Maksudul Alam disclosed the matter to newsmen at a press conference on Thursday afternoon.
