Stocks extend loss

Key share price index at the country’s twin bourses-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – suffered loss on Monday, the 2nd trading day of the week.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX dropped 8.45 points or 0.18 percent to close at 4708.33 on the day. Of the 307 issues traded, 129 gained, 131 declined and 47 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 204.36 crore changed hands at the DSE on Monday against Tk 223.24 crore on Sunday.
The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Northern Jute Manufacturing, Shyampur Sugar Mills, C & A Textiles, BEXIMCO Synthetics, Modern Dyeing & Screen Printing, National Feed Mill Limited, GSP Finance Company, Standard Insurance, Argon Denims, and DESCO.
Similarly, the CSE key index, CSCX, dropped 26.01 points to reach 8742.30 at the closing on Monday.
