Renowned sports organiser Munir Hossain, also former executive committee member of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA), breathed his last this morning at a city hospital, said a BOA press release.
He was 84.
Munir, the country’s first FIFA referee and also the former general secretary of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation, left behind two daughters and a host of well wishers to mourn his death.
In a condolence message, the BOA secretary general Syed Shahed Reza and all BOA members expressed deep shock and condolence at the sad demise of Munir. They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Archery Federation, Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation and various sports federations in separate messages condoled the death of Munir Hossain.
