The government has re-appointed Shafiul Alam Cabinet Secretary again for one year.
He was scheduled to go on post-retirement leave from December 13, according to an official of the Ministry of Public Administration.
State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadique said, “I have approved the file and it has been sent to Prime Minister’s Office for final approval. A circular will be issued recommending his reappointment as Cabinet Secretary after receiving PM’s nod.”
Shafiul Alam became
Cabinet Secretary on October 25, 2015. He served also as Secretary in the Ministry of Land and in the President’s Office.
He was also the Chairman of the National Housing Authority and Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation.
He had many important positions for the last 30 years.
He was also Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner, the Chairman of Land Appeal Board, and Additional Secretary of Ministry of Communications.
The member of the 1982 Bangladesh Civil Service cadre completed his MA in English in 1981 from the Chittagong University and undertook a higher degree in Development Administration from a university in the United Kingdom.
