Premier Cricket: Prime Doleshwar take solo lead beating Kalabagan CA by 49 runs

Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club took the solo lead in the Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League beating lowly Kalabagan Cricket Academy by 49 runs via the D/L method in a rain-hit 8th round match at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Tuesday.
With the day’s feat, Prime Doleshwar SC dominated the league table securing 12 points from eight league encounters while Kalabagan CA remained at the bottom with two points from eight matches.
Two other matches of the day between Abahani Limited and Gazi Group Cricketers, and Dhaka Mohammedan SC and Prime Bank CC were marred by rain and rolled on the reserved day (Wednesday).
Sent in to bat first in the day’s match, Prime Doleshwar scored a comfortable 287 runs for 6 in stipulated 50 overs featuring three half centuries by openers Imtiaz Hossain and Robiul Islam Robi, and one down Raqibul Hasan.
Prime Doleshwar made a good start scoring 112 runs in 19.3 overs in the opening stand by Imtiaz Hossain and Robiul Islam Robi.
Opener Imtiaz Hossain hammered the match highest 86 runs off 94 balls hitting six fours and two sixes and was adjudged man of the match while Robiul Islam Robi contributed a half century scoring just 50 runs off 64 balls with six fours and one six and national coloured Raqibul Hasan made 79-ball 66 runs, including five boundaries.
Besides, skipper Farhad Reza quickfired not out 34 runs off just 15 balls hitting four sixes and national all rounder Nasir Hossain scored 18 runs off 23 balls with two boundaries and Rony Talukder made nine-ball 15 with one four and a six.
Chasing a revised target of 148 runs in 21 overs due to rain, Kalabagan CA scored 98 for 4 in reduced 21 runs to concede 49 runs defeat.
Opener Ifran Sukker scored 44-ball 38 runs with five fours, another opener Mysukur Rahman hit 35-ball 23 runs including five boundaries while Mehedy Hasan Miraj contributed an unbeaten 21 runs off 29 deliveries with two fours, were the leading scorers for Kalabagan CA reaching double figures.
Nasir Hossain grabbed two wickets for 45 runs.
At BKSP ground in Fatullah, Abahani Limited batted first and scored a fighting total of 276 runs for 6 in allocated 50 overs featuring two half centuries by Indian Rajat Bhatia and national opener Tamim Iqbal.
Rajat Bhatia pairing with Mosaddek Hossain contributed 100 runs in 5th wicket stand.
Rajat Bhatia hammered a polished innings of 90 runs off 88 balls featuring nine fours and two sixes, captain Tamim Iqbal scored 55 runs off 66 balls with seven fours, Mosaddek Hossain made 46-ball 47 runs hitting four fours and a six, Liton Das scored 46-ball 37 runs with four fours.
Mahadi Hasan grabbed two wickets for 32 runs.
In reply, Gazi Group Cricketers failed to open the innings due to rain and will bat on Wednesday, the reserved day of the match.
Sent in to bat first at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mipur, Dhaka Mohammedan SC were all out for 224 runs in 49.2 overs, featuring 84 runs in the 7th wicket stand.
Number seven batsman Nazmul Hossain Milon scored 64 runs off 82 balls with six four, number eight Habibur Rahman made 64-ball 50 runs with four fours and two sixes.
M Manhas (25), Naeem Islam (25), Eanmul Haque jr (12) and naeem Islam Jr (10) were the other mani contributors for Mohammedan SC.
