The government on Thursday asked the owners of all industries, including readymade garment factories, to pay the Eid festival bonus to their workers by August 16.
They have also been asked to pay partial salaries for the running month by August 19.
“We ask all the industrialists to pay Eid bonus and a part for the salaries of current month so that the workers could celebrate the festival easily and comeback to their workplaces with jolly mind,” State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haq Chunnu said this after a meeting with the Crisis Management Committee at his secretariat.
Representatives from the owners, trade unions, law enforcement agencies, members of industrial police, regional members of the committee and government senior officials participated in the meeting.
The Eid-ul-Azha may be celebrated on August 22, depending on the moon sighting.
