Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) organised an orientation programme for the students of 37th batch of Chartered Secretary Course at ICSB Campus, Padma Life Tower , Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue in the city . Mohammad Asad Ullah, FCS, President of Institute formally inaugurated the programme. Welcoming the newly enrolled students of Chartered Secretary Course, Mohammad Asad Ullah FCS, appreciated them for their decision to enroll themselves in ICSB. In his speech, he mentioned that Chartered Secretary profession is now a challenging and rewarding profession in Corporate Management sector and there is a wide range of professional scope both at home and abroad. Natural and man-made disasters are rising worldwide and Asia is the most affected region and Bangladesh is the most disaster-prone and vulnerable country. To reduce the risk of disaster, the initiatives of building awareness and taking integrated action programme is very important. Speakers expressed this opinion in a symposium on “Sendai Spring Campaign” held on Thursday (January 28) at Dhaka Community Hospital Auditorium jointly organised by Asian Disaster Reduction and Response Network (ADRRN) and Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (DCH Trust). Agenda of the symposium was Emerging issues at the frontline, National Priorities and Develop an Action Plan .The symposium was attended by Shalini Jain , Director, Research & Advocacy, SEEDS, India, Prof. Salamot Khondaker of Daffodil Unversity, Arfaqul Alam Ribo , Shawkat Ali Tutul, Mahbub Jamil, BithunTasnuva Mazid, Md. Golam Mostafa , Prof. Mahmuder Rahman and Prof, Quazi Quamruzzaman.
FBS-DBAA, Dhaka University
The committee formation and 1st AGM of Faculty of Business Studies-Doctor of Business Administration Association (FBS-DBAA), Dhaka University (DU) was held on Saturday at Dr Abdullah Farouk Conference Hall of FBS, Dhaka University . The FBS-DBAA organised the programme for formation of the committee followed by dinner. Prof Shibli Rubayat -Ul-Islam, Dean of FBS presided over the function while DU VC Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique was the Chief Guest. Pro VC Prof Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain was the special guest in the function along with Prof Dr Kamal Uddin, Treasurer and Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed, President of Teachers’ Association. Benazir Ahmed, DG , RAB has been elected as President of the Association. Syed Md. Aminul Karim, Member Grade 1, Tax Policy and Md. Ariful Islam, Mutual Trust Bank Ltd have been elected as the Vice President and General Secretary respectively of the Association, says a press release.
BAF Shaheen English Medium School
The annual cultural programme and prize giving ceremony of BAF Shaheen English Medium School (SEMS) was held at BAF Shaheen Hallon on Saturday. Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operation & Training) Air Vice Marshal M Naim Hassan, OSP, afwc, psc was present as Chief Guest. He distributed Merit Awards among the meritorious students of BAF SEMS, the “Chief of Air Staff Crests” among the high achievers of O’ level exam and prizes among the winners of annual cultural competition. Zafira Hasan in Junior Category and Shajnin Mahmud Sara in Senior Category were awarded the ‘Best Student of 2015’ award whereas Md Ruhul Kadir was awarded ‘The Best Teacher 2015’ Award. The Chief Guest lauded the remarkable feat attained by the students of the school. He expressed hope that the school would continue this prosperous trend in future, says a press release.
