No closure of educational institutions yet: Dipu Moni

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said that the government does not have plan to shut down any educational institution as a measure to stem the spread of coronavirus in the country.
The Education Minister said this at a discussion program on the occasion of the International Women’s Day at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Wednesday.
Dr Dipu Moni said, “The whole world is in an unstable situation because of coronavirus outbreak. However, Bangladesh is more stable compared with other countries.”
The Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control & Research (IEDCR) is monitoring the coronavirus situation in the country. IEDCR Head is briefing on the situation every day, even twice sometimes if needed, assuring people of safety.
 “They did not give us any direction to shut down educational institutions,” she told the reporters.
“If IEDCR feels necessary, they will inform us and we will take further actions after consulting with the experts,” the Education Minister said.
“We have sent instructions to all educational institutions. If they follow those instructions, both teachers and students will remain safe.
Asking everyone not to spread rumors on social media, Dipu Moni said: “several quarters are spreading rumours on social media. No one is allowed to spread rumour and create panic among people.”
