Nationalist Lawyers Forum won Dist Bar Assoc election

The BNP-backed Nationalist Lawyers Forum panel has won the Manikganj District Bar Association election. The candidates of this panel have won 13 out of 15 posts including president-general secretary.
On the other hand, the Awami League-backed Joint Lawyers Coordinating Council panel has won two posts of co-general secretary and member.
The winning candidates of the BNP-backed panel are Jamilur Rashid Khan for the post of president, Helal Uddin Ahmed for the post of vice-president, AFM NurtazAlam for the post of general secretary, MohammadRezaul Karim for the post of finance secretary, Mohammad Farooq Mollah as library secretary, Mohammad Saleh Akramas sports secretary, ShahnazParveen as Literary and Cultural Secretary, Mohammad Anwar Hossain and Md. Jamal Uddin as Auditor , As a members Md.SohailRana, Md. Jewelur Rahman, Imran Arefin and Md. Zahirul Islam. The two winning candidates of the Awami League-backed panel are co-general secretaryShahidullah and Rana Ahmed as member.
According to the District Bar Association, polling was held non-stop from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The total number of voters in this election was 593, out of which 569 exercised their franchise. The counting of votes goes on all night.
Mohammad Aziz Ullah, a veteran district bar lawyer, acted as the chief election commissioner. Besides, lawyer AbdurRazzak and lawyer Matiur Rahman were in charge of the election commissioner.
Chief Election Commissioner Mohammad Aziz Ullah said the voting was fair and impartial. The winners will serve on the District Bar Association for the next one year.
In this regard, the general secretary of the district Awami League Abdus Salam said, ‘As the ruling party, we should have an absolute victory. But there was a lack of qualified candidates in the panel. But this rate is our education, education for our leaders. We will be able to overcome this later. The election has been fair. We congratulate the winners.
