Atleast 14 shops were gutted in Najjumia lane in chaktai are a in city yesterday early morning.
Sources said fire originated from electric short circuit in a shop at about 6 am which quickly engulfed around the area , sources said. Fire sources said on information, seven fire service units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after 3 hours.
Fire service sources said properties worth about Tk.25 lakh was damaged in the fire.
