A mother and her minor son were electrocuted at Akua Darbar Sharif Road in the district town here on Sunday afternoon.
The victims are -Fatema Khatun, 35, wife of Mofizul Islam of Kamaria village under Tarakanda upazila of the district and her three-year old son Mohammad Abdullah. Police said Abdullah came in touch of a live electric wire in the kitchen when his mother was cooking in their rented house in the area at about 2 pm.
Hearing his cry, Fatema came to save him and both of them were electrocuted.
They were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital immediately where the doctors declared them dead.
