It is ironical
In response to BNP’s threat to stage anti-government movement after Eid, the ruling party leaders are often threatening that they would not tolerate peoples suffering in the name of movement. To put it in their words, ‘no one will be allowed to play with peoples fates’.
How happy we would have been if we could accept the AL leaders concern for the suffering of people as meaningful because we have not forgotten how we suffered during the Awami League’s movement for the caretaker government. It was nightmarish.
And talking about fate, it is ironical that ruling party leaders are playing with it. With utter helplessness, we watched the election on January 5, which enabled them to form a government without peoples mandate. In reality, they do not count people in any manner. So, reference to people’s sufferings by the AL leaders is hard to digest.
