Md Saiful Islam has been elected as the president of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI) for 2022.
The members of the board of directors of the chamber unanimously elected him at the first meeting of the new board on December 5 and it was confirmed at the 117th annual general meeting of the MCCI on Wednesday.
A leading entrepreneur and a commercially important person (CIP) status holder since 1998, Islam is the managing director of Picard Bangladesh Ltd.
He is also the president of Leathergoods and Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB) and director of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
