A Dhaka court on Monday sentenced a man to 17 years’ jail term in a case filed for recovering arms and bullets from a slam under Mirpur Police Station in the capital.
Dhaka’s Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Roksana Begum Popy pronounced the verdict in presence of the convict.
According to the verdict, Khokon was given 10 years’ imprisonment in arms case under section 19 (A) and seven years’ rigorous jail term under section 19 (F).
But convict Khokon will have to serve 10 years of imprisonment as two punishment will go on at the same time, the court peshkar Shamim Ahmed confirmed.
According to the case statement, police arrested Khokon on May 24, 2000, for keeping arms and bullets. Investigation officer SI Ratan Kanti Roy submitted chargesheet of the case on October 17, the same year.
