Hosts Bangladesh was put in strong Group B of the six-nation South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Under-16 Championship with India and Sri Lanka.
Nepal, Maldives and Afghanistan were placed in Group B of the meet.
The six-nation SAFF Junior Championship will be held at the Sylhet Stadium in Sylhet from August 9-18.
The grouping of the meet was finalized on Saturday at a ceremonial draw of the championship held at the BFF Bhaban in the capital.
BFF vice president and chairman of the meet’s organizing committee Badal Roy conducted the draw accompanied BFF and organizing committee officials.
SAFF general secretary Anwarul Haque Helal, co-chairman of the organizing committee Sheikh Mohammad Aslam, organizing committee secretary Satyajit Das Rupu and BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag were also present on the occasion.

Sharnali Akhter Sweety clinched gold medal in the women’s long jump in athletics, Mohammad Abdul Kader Soron and Rezwanrul Haque win gold medals in men’s doubles badminton.
