Khaleda`s all 3 nominations rejected

Returning Officers on Sunday rejected all the three nominations filed by BNP chief Khaleda Zia due to her conviction in two corruption cases.
Earlier, she filed nominations papers for contesting the upcoming national election from Feni-1, Bogura-6 and Bogura-7 constituencies.
The nomination paper of Khaleda Zia for Feni-1 constituency was cancelled as she is convicted in two cases, according to returning officer and Feni deputy commissioner Md Wahid Uz Zaman.
In Bagura, returning officer and deputy commissioner Foyez Ahmed rejected the nomination papers of the BNP chairperson for Bagura-6 and Bagura-7 constituencies in the afternoon on the same ground.
On 29 October, Khaleda was convicted and sentenced to seven years’ rigorous imprisonment by a special court in Dhaka in Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.
Khaleda landed in jail after being sentenced to five years’ imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust case by the same court on 8 February. The High Court later on October 30 extended her jail terms in the case to 10 years.
