Jahangirnagar University authorities have sacked a teacher after he was found to have sexually harassed a number of his female students.
The university’s syndicate, in a meeting on Thursday evening, took the decision against AKM Anisuzzaman, a 34-year-old lecturer of the accountancy and information systems department, who was under investigation for nearly a year.
Syndicate Member Rasheda Akhter said, “Lecturer Anisuzzaman was removed as the charges against him of sexually harassing a number of his students were proven.”

Meanwhile, Islam told bdnews24.com, “We talked with the students of the department. Many of them said they had fallen prey to the teacher’s harassment.”
Anisuzzaman’s phone was found switched off when called for him reaction.
