Shahriar Shahid, Managing Editor of state-owned news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) who passed away at a hospital in the capital on Saturday, was laid to eternal rest here on Monday afternoon.
Shahriar was buried at his family graveyard in Doukarchar village of Raipura upazila around 5:45pm following his second namaz-e-janaza at Doukarchar Jam-e Mosque after Asr prayers.
Shahriar, who had been undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospitals Dhaka
for heart-related complications, breathed his last there around 1:45pm on Saturday at the age of 56.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held at the Jatyia Press Club after Johr prayers on Monday.
Shahriar started his journalism career t international news agency Reuters. He made several Liberation War-based documentaries and wrote more than 30 books on regional Liberation War history.
