Khondoker Md. Iqbal has joined Karmasangsthan Bank as Managing Director on January 30, says a press release. Prior to this assignment, he was the Deputy Managing Director of Sonali Bank (UK) Limited. He started his banking career as a Class-I Officer in Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) in 1981. During his long banking carrier he worked in different divisions in ICB and demonstrated outstanding performance in the respective area of operations. He was also the Chief Executive Officer of ICB Assets Management Company Limited from 2003 to March 2005. As General Manager he worked in Agrani Bank Limited and Sonali Bank Limited for the period from 2005 to 2009.
He completed his master degree with Honours in Accounting from Dhaka University. He obtained diploma in banking from Institute of Banker’s, Bangladesh (IBB) and in decision base from Stockholm, Sweden. He attended a number of Training programs/seminars/ workshops in home and abroad. He comes of a respectable Muslim family of Barisal district and is blessed with two daughters.
