Homage paid to Ivy Rahman on her 18th death anniv

Leaders and activists of the ruling Awami League (AL) paid rich tributes at the mausoleum of former President of Bangladesh Mahila Awami League Ivy Rahman, on her 18th death anniversary on Wednesday.
A group of AL leaders and activists led by Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader paid rich tributes to her grave at Banani graveyard on Wednesday morning, reports BSS.
Quader was accompanied by AL Joint General Secretary AFM Baha Uddin Nasim, Organizing Secretary Ahmad Hossain, Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Liberation War Affairs Secretary Asim Kumar Ukil, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Agriculture and Cooperative Affairs Secretary Faridunnahar Laili, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Abdus Sabur, Office Secretary Biplab Barua, Women Affairs Secretary Meher Afroz Chumki, Central Committee Member Dr. Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Anwar Hossain, Syed Abdul Awal Shamim and others.
Later, leaders of Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League, Jubo
League, Chhatra League, Swechhasebak League, Krishak League and other
affiliated organizations of the party paid their respects at Ivy Rahman’s
grave.
Ivy suffered grievous injuries during a grisly grenade attack on an AL rally
at Bangabandhu Avenue in the city on August 21 in 2004 and succumbed to her
injuries on August 24.
She was the wife of former president of Bangladesh late Md Zillur Rahman.
Nazmul Haque Papon, MP, the only son among her three children is the
president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
