Majchar Union parishad football team beat Kanaipur Union parishad team by a solitary first half goal in the inaugural match of Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain gold cup football tournament played last afternoon here at Kanaipur High school ground.
Half-time score was 1-0 led by Majchar union.
The tournament organized by Faridpur sadar upazila parishad was inaugurated by LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain under whose name the gold cup tournament has been introduced to be played among the 11 unions of sadar upazila.
The play will be held in 12 different fields on knock-out basis.
The inaugural function was chaired by Kanaipur Union Parishad chairman Md Belayet Hossain while it was addressed by DC Umme Salma Tanzia, Police Super Md. Jamil Hassan and sadar upazila chairman Kh. Mohtesham Hossain Babor.
