A father in a Sailkupa village of the district brought wide allegation of torture by his lone son to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) on Monday.
UNO Usman Gani had suggested the chairman of Bogura union parishad, the father and his son to appear in a hearing in his office to settle the matter.
The father Toaz Uddin Biswas of Baraihuda village under Bogura union of Sailkupa upazila in his written complaint said, his lone son Abdus Sobhan has been availing his three bighas of land forcibly. But does not bear any fooding or other expenses of the elderly man.
Further, he used to torture him (father) frequently even in public following a trifling matter. His nephew Alamgir has been helping Sobhan to torture him, Toaz Uddin alleged.
UNO Usman Gani when contacted said, he had suggested the chairman of Bogura union parishad, the father and his son to appear in a hearing in his office to settle the matter. As the issue could not be settled with existing laws, only social system could solve the crisis, UNO said.
