BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir accused the doctors of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) of preparing a false report on the health condition of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for submission to the High Court at the command of the government.
He said this while addressing a human chain programme in front of the Jatiya Press Club protesting the hike in power and water tariffs.
BNP Secretary General said that their party chief Khaleda Zia’s health condition had badly deteriorated,
but the BSMMU medical board presented a false report on her condition.
He urged the party leaders and the activists to wage a strong movement to free her from jail.
“The government should retreat from its decision of raising the prices of electricity and water tariff,” he added. The BNP leader affirmed that they would cause the fall of the government through a peaceful mass movement.
The government has been staying, says Fakhrul, in power using the state machinery as Awami League has become politically bankrupt.
