DIU hosts ‘Daffodil English Olympics 2019’

To create a huge motivation among Bangladeshi students for learning English “Daffodil English Olympics 2019” for the students of class 9 to class 12 from all over the country is going to be start from Friday. Department of English of Daffodil International University (DIU) is going to organize this competition of English language proficiency named “Daffodil English Olympics 2019”.
Participants from class 9 to class 10 (as well as ‘O’ level) will fall in the junior category while participants from class 11 to class12 (as well as ‘A’ level) will fall in the senior category. Primarily Selection Round of competition will be held on online plat form. Participants have to ensure their registration paying BDT 100. There are three options for paying registration fee, 1) bKash 2) On spot Registration during the campaign in any school or college 3) by visiting Department office. Top 50 participants from each category will be selected for Final Round which will be held on 13 December 2019 in 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University. In the Final Round top 10 participants from each category will be awarded cash prizes, crests and certificates.  
All these were informed in a “Meet the Press” held today on Thursday at the university Conference Room. Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU upheld the details in the “Meet the Press”. The Meet the Press was also addressed among others by Prof AMM Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Rakibul Hasan Khan, Head, Department of English.
