Title aspirant Dhaka Abahani Limited played to a 1-1 draw with lowly Sheikh Russel KC in the JB Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at Sylhet District Stadium here on Sunday night.
With the day’s debacle, the popular sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit, Abahani Limited, went down to the 2nd slot in the league table securing 16 points from eight matches after holders Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, which topped the list collecting 18 points from eight outings.
Despite the day’s valuable point, former champions Sheikh Russel KC remained at the bottom in the 12-team fray securing two points from eight league encounters.
Rony put Sheikh Russel KC ahead in the 66th minute while Jewel Rana restored the parity for Dhaka Abahani making the equaliser in the 84th minute.
