Robi’s Vehicle Tracking Service (VTS) customer, Md. Mannan Khan has secured his stolen vehicle using the Robi Tracker service, a press release said Thursday. Such an incidence indicates the growing relevance of digital service in our society, says a press release.
Mannan Khan’s car had been hijacked from Kushtia on 19thApril 2017 at around 7.15 p.m. He immediately contacted Robi Tracker helpline to find out the status of his car.
Following the standard caller verification procedure, the helpline agents: Abdul Kayum Hasan & Md. Bahar Uddin informed him about the current location of the car. Mannan then requested the helpline agents to stop the vehicle’s engine. Based on customer’s request they remotely stopped the car’s engine.
Meanwhile, Mannan sent one of his close relatives to the location of the car. However, after a while, the helpline agents noticed that the car started moving; they informed Mannan of this development immediately. Learning this, Mannan again asked them to stop the engine but the helpline agents advised him to not do it any more as it may cause sudden accident on the highway, besides the carjackers might realize that the car was monitored through the VTS device.
Robi helpline agents kept monitoring the movement of the car and kept Mannan informed all along. Eventually, he managed to locate his car with the help of helpline agents by 12.30 a.m on the same night from Jhenaidah.
