Corruption will not be tolerated in Supreme Court : New AG

Newly-appointed Attorney General Advocate AM Amin Uddin has made it clear that corruption will not be tolerated in the country’s highest court. The chief law officer of the State said also that no rebate would be made to anyone involved with corruption.
Attorney General is the Chief Law Officer of the State as per the Constitution.
He can attend in the hearing in any court of the country.
It is said that the Attorney General coordinates among the three organs of the State- the executive, the judiciary and the legislature.
The position fell vacant after former Attorney General Mahbubey Alam died on September 27 of novel coronavirus.
There were a lot of discussions for several days about who would be the new Attorney General of the country.
President Md Abdul Hamid on Thursday evening appointed Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President and Senior Advocate AM Amin Uddin as the 16th Attorney General of the country.
The new Attorney General talked to the reporters on Friday. He said that initiatives would be taken for expeditious hearing of all the sensational cases, including BDR mutiny case.
Besides, the new Attorney General Advocate AM Amin Uddin is committed to take care of the unfinished work of former Attorney General Mahbubey Alam. AM Amin Uddin will officially take charge as the Attorney General next Sunday.
