Nearly three years and seven months after his arrest, Amar Desh acting editor Mahmudur Rahman was released on bail from Kashimpur jail on Wednesday.
He walked out of Kashimpur Jail part-2 around 1 pm after the bail order reached the jail, said jailer Nashir Ahmed. BNP leaders and activists, pro-BNP journalist leaders,
relatives and well-wishers received Mahmuder at the jail gate.
Later, he was admitted to the city’s United Hospital as he complained of pains in different parts of his body and various others complications, BNP chairperson’s media wing member Sairul Kabir Khan told UNB.
Police arrested Mahmudur from his Karwan Bazar office on April 11, 2013.
