Planning Minister AHM Mostafa Kamal said the development of Chittagong means uplift of Bangladesh and the economic prospects of the country is possible amid Chittagong’s development.
The planning minister disclosed it while addressing the International Business Conference held at Radison Blu Hotel auditorium yesterday arranged by Chittagong Chamberof Commerce & Industry on the occasion of its 5-day long centenary celebrations as Chief Guest.
 Planning Minister said with the estimated expenditures of about 7 billion dollars, 58 development projects are being implemented in the districts of the greater chitagong. He mentioned that after implementation of these ongoing projects including Matarbari LNG Terminal, a number of power plants, deep sea ports etc , the face of this regions will be changed . He also said Chittagong is linked with the 80 percent forex earnings due to better geographical locations and the centenary old seaport.
 The minister also told that Bangladesh is a convenient place for foreign investment due to abundantly available of cheap manpower forces, friendly revenue policy and scope for land ownership by the foreign investors in Bangladesh which is not exists in our neighbouring countries.
Managing Director of AK Khan & Company Salahuddin Kashem Khan presented the keynote paper titled ‘The Bay of Bengal Growth Triangle & the Maritime Silk Route’ before the conference.
Diplomats of different countries , representatives of foreign development agencies , business leaders of the country spoke the conference duly moderated by Chittagong Chamber President Mahbubul Alam .
