The police administration assured the businessmen of extending all-out support for safe transportation of essential commodities through highways and railways during blockade programs of the BNP led 20 alliance across the country. High officials of the district and law enforcing agencies gave assurances at the meeting of views exchanging with the business leaders of Chittgong on Sunday.
 Police Commissioner of Chittagong AbdulJalil Mondol called upon the business community of the port city to boycott the businessmen those and the mastermind & patroniser of the arsonists, violances and anarchism.
This was disclosed by the police commissioner at a meeting held at Chittagong chamber house on present law and order situation of the country with chamber president Mahbubul Alam in the chair.
Chamber of commerce & Industry of Chittagong arranged this meeting on views exchanging over the prevailing political situation of the country . Senior officials of and district police authority, chamber officials and district admn official participated the meeting.
Police super of Chittagong HafizAkhter is his brief deliberation said a number of business magnets in Chittagong refunding the violence movements and called upon business community to boycott them after scrutiny.
He further said we wont desire to see any nuisances like deaths by arson and we wont desire anarchy in the name of political programs. Police commissioner said additional police.
RAB and BGB will be deployed on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway to protect the properties of public and private sectors. He also sought of the people of the country irrespective of caste and creed to resist any sorts of anarchy and violence Chamber president Mahbubul Alam disclosed that country directly or indirectly incurring loss of Tk.1000 per day including SME head Tk150 cr. Production sector 1 00 cr, transport sector Tk.68 cr, export sector Tk.690 cr and total of Tk.17000 cr during last 17 days.
Chittagong chamber presented a 9-point proposals in the meet to get rid from the present stalemate crisis. Chamber president urges to form a task force consists of law enforcers, customs, bank, port official to keep smooth functioning of the import , export and internal trading.
Among others Deputy commissioner of Chittagong Mesbahuddin Ahmed, chamber vice president Jamal Ahmed, upazila chairman association President Ehsanul Hoque Chowdhury, Major Jahangir of RAB, DIG of Chittagong Range Shafiqul Islam, representatives from Rolling Mills Association, C&F agents association, Khatu ngonj Trade Association, Motor Parts Association and ward councilors of CCC , Dokan Malik federation Hotel and restaurant association and CAB officials of Chittagong were present in the meeting.
Hearing to all these remarks, members of the law enforcing agencies assured the businessmen of their assistance in carrying the cargo vehicles on the highways. DIG Shahfiqul Islam said that the cargo carrying vehicles would be escorted to their destinations with security forces.
