Indian HC in Barisal says: Import of cows from India before Eid depends on bilateral trade

Pankaj Saran, High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, answering to questions of journalists and delivering speech in the inaugural ceremony of Indian Visa Application Center at Barisal on Sunday noon said the import of cows from India to Bangladesh depends on the bilateral trade .
He also ensured that there would be zero-tolerance against role of visa-brokers and called the visa-applicants to take help of local law enforcing agencies to curb the visa-brokers.
The Indian High Commissioner on Sunday noon said these during inaugural ceremony of opening Indian Visa Application Center (IVAC) managed by State Bank of India at Barisal.
He also simultaneously opened same centers at Rangpur and Mymensingh from Barisal through video-conferencing at the same time.
These three centers will start serving the applicants from Monday September 14, 2015 increasing numbers of such kinds of centers in Bangladesh to 10 and it would be increased more, the Indian High Commissioner added.
Begum Jebunnesa Afroj, Advocate Talukdar Md. Yunus, AL lawmaker, Saidur Rahman Rintu, AL leader and president Barisal Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Md. Gaus, Barisal divisional commissioner, Shoibal Kanti Chowdhury, commissioner Barisal Metropolitan police, Pinak Chakraborty, country head Bangladesh Operations of State Bank of India, Siddhartha Sengupta, deputy managing director, international banking group of State Bank of India, at corporate center in Mumbai, also addressed the programme.
The Bangladeshi speakers thanking the Indian high Commission for opening visa centers in their region recalled the historical relationship between the two countries and people since emergence of Bangladesh.
They called the Indian officials to make visa application centers free from hassle, harassment and brokers and upgrading those centers in near future by giving authourity to issue visa to the applicants at the application centers.
Indian High Commissioner assured to give speedy and quality services for visa applicants through these centers.
He said now 9 out of 10 types of Indian visas, except tourist visas, needs no token for issuing visa and passport delivery-date against submitted application.
The High Commissioner quoting the speech of Indian Prime Minister during Dhaka visit said relations between two countries was not following any-one, but going side by side always.
Mentionable Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) in Barisal opened at first floor of North City Super Market under Barisal City Corporation on Amrita Lal Dey Road of the city for receiving applications from the residents of six districts of Barisal division.
IVAC at Mymensingh opened at 1st floor of 297/1 Masakanda Bus Stand of the city and will receive applications from the residents of Mymensingh, Tangail, Jamalpur, Sherpur, Kishoreganj, Netrokona and Bhaluka areas.
IVAC at Rangpur opened at JB Sen Road, opposite to Ram Krishna Mission , Mahiganj and will serve applicants of Rangpur division.
