A total of 13,03,331 out of 14,32,727 students passed in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations under 10 education boards this year.By breaking all the previous records 1,42,276 of them got the highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5) in both the exams. The GPA-5 getting students’ number was 91,226 last year.Among the GPA-5 holders, 77,551 are male students and 64,725 are female.This year the success rate has been 91.34 per cent – 2.31 per cent higher than that of last year.The number of schools with hundred percent pass stood at 6,210.As many as 288 students of seven foreign centers have come out successful in the SSC examinations this year with 98.29 percent pass rate. A total of 293 students from the seven overseas centers appeared in the examinations. Of them, 82 got GPA-5.Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid formally handed over a copy of the result to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganobhaban in presence of all chairmen of the board.The minister announced the results through a press briefing at the Secretariat in the afternoon.From 2:00pm, candidates started getting their results from their respective centres, websites of their respective boards or from mobile phones through SMS.In Dhaka Board, 46,795 students achieved GPA-5 while it was 26,390 last year. Among them, 23,812 students are male and 22,983 are female students.A total of 19,815 secured GPA-5 under Rajshahi Board this year, which was 12,203 in the previous year. Of them, 10,825 are male and 8,990 are female.In Comilla Board, a total of 10,945 students came up with GPA-5 while 7,855 students secured the highest results in the previous year. Of them, 5,686 are male and 5,259 are female.Some 10,944 students achieved GPA-5 from Jessore Board this year against 9086 in the last year. Among them, 6,133 GPA-holders are males and 4,811 are females.In Chittagong Board, 10,884 students came up with GPA-5 this year against 7,358 in the previous year. Of them, 5,579 are males and 5,305 are females.Besides, 4,762 students secured GPA-5 from Barisal Board while it was 3,514 last year. Of them, 2,338 are male and 2,424 are female.In Sylhet Board, 3,341 students attained GPA-5 against 2,789 in the previous year. Of them, 1,732 are male and 1609 are female.A total of 14,827 students came up with GPA-5 from Dinajpur Board which was 8,186 in the previous year. Of them, 8,309 are males and 6518 are females.Under Madrasah Board, a total of 14,013 students obtained GPA-5 in the Dakhil examinations (SSC equivalent) this year which was 9,673 in the previous year. Of them, 9,263 are males and 4750 are females.A total of 5,950 students got GPA-5 in the Technical Education Board this year while the number of GPA-5 holders was 4,172 last year. Of them, 3874 are males and 2076 are females.Bogra Cantonment Public School & College secured the top position in Rajshahi Board in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination-2014 with 94.45 points.Bogra Government Girls’ High School got the second position having got 94.20 points, while Bogra Zilla School took the third spot with 93.60 points. Naogaon Govt K. D. High School became fourth with 92.25 points and Government Laboratory High School got the fifth position with 91.71 points.Rajuk Uttara Model School and College, Uttara, secured the top position in Dhaka Board in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations this year with attaining 99.28 points.Ideal School and College, Motijheel clinched the second position with 98.58 points, Viqarunnisa Noon School, Ramna secured the third position with 98.15 points, Milestone College, Turag, Dhaka came up at fourth position with 97.14 points and Motijheel Model High School, Motijheel obtained the fifth position with 96.06 points.Sylhet Cadet College secured the first position in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination-2014 obtaining 91 points in the Sylhet Education Board.Blue Bird High School took the 2nd position having got 82.72 points, while Jalalabad Cantonment Public School & College took the third spot with 82.21 points, Sylhet Govt. Pilot High School became fourth with 81.46 points, Scholarshome, Sylhet Sadar got the fifth position with 80.92 points.Jhenaidah Cadet College and Military Collegiate School in Khulna secured the top position in Jessore Board in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations-2014 with attaining 91 points.At the ranking table, Government Coronation Secondary Girls’ School, Khulna Sadar secured the 2nd position with 90.45 points, while Khulna Zilla School secured the 3rd with 88.65 points, Police Line Secondary School came up at 4th with 88.60 points, Kushtia Zilla School obtained the 5th position with 86.58 points.Barisal Cadet College secured the top position in Barisal Board in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations this year with attaining 91 points.Barisal Government Girls’ High School clinched the second position with 86.72 points, Barisal Zila School secured the third position with 83.92 points, Srijanee Bidyaniketan, Dumki, Patuakhali came up at fourth with 81.82 points and Jhalakathi Government Boys’ Secondary School obtained the fifth position with 75.48 points.Chittagong Collegiate School, Double Mooring took the top spot in Chittagong Eduction Board in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination-2014 with 95.36 points.At the ranking table, Bangladesh Mohila Samity Girls’ High School and College secured 2nd position having got 95.35 points, while Dr. Khastagir Govt. Girls’ High School took the third position with 93.77 points. Govt. Muslim High School became fourth attaining 93.46 points, Silver Bells Girls’ High School got the fifth position with 90.62 points.Jhalokathi NS Kamil Madrasa secured the top position in Madrasa Education Board in the Dakhil examination this year with attaining 91.49 points.Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasa, Tongi, Gazipur clinched the second position with 88.04 points, Sarsina Darussunnat Kamil Madrasa, Pirojpur secured the third position with 87.02 points, Darunnazat Siddikia Kamil Madrasa, Demra came up at fourth position with 86.74 points and Jameya-E-Kasemia Kamil Madrasa, Norsingdi secured the fifth position with 85.29 points.The examinations began on February 9 and the written tests ended on March 20.If students want to have their papers re-evaluated, they can apply from May 18 to 24 through SMS from Teletalk mobile operator. They will have to type RSC, space, the first three letters of their education board, space, and roll numbers before sending it to 16222.The students will be charged Tk 125 for each subject and each paper. In a SMS reply, they will be given a PIN and informed about the charge for the re-evaluation.Interested students will have to type RSC, space, YES, space, PIN, space and finally a mobile number before sending it to 16222.
