Chittagong Hill Tracts Liberation War Memorial Preservation Council accorded reception to 70 freedom fighters (FFs) of the district on Sunday.
On the occasion of the Victory Day, this reception was held at the conference room of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board.
Vice-Chancellor of Rangamati University of Science and Technology Dr. Pradanendu Bikas Chakma was present as chief guest.
Convener of the Council and former state minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Dipankar Talukder presided over the programme while Rangamati District Council Chairman Brishoketu Chakma and Mayor of Rangamati Municipality Akbar Hossain Chowdhury were the special guests.
Among others, Member Secretary of the Council Sunil Kanti Dey, FFs Haji Kamal Uddin and Ranjeet Barua, and a FF’s son Saikat Ranjan Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion. Later, honorary crests were distributed among the 70 FFs.
