Police arrested the driver and helper of the bus that hit the bus of ‘Keya Paribahan’ carrying female students of Rajshahi Government College leaving three of them dead on December 7, from the city’s Shiroil bus terminal on Thursday morning. The arrestees were identified as driver the killer bus ‘Islam Paribahan’ Abdul Baten and his helper Imran Hossain.
Police also arrested helper Ejabul of the ‘Keya Paribahan’ bus.
Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Matihar Police Station, said tipped off, a police team conducted a drive in the area and arrested the trio in the morning.
Earlier, police on December 9 arrested the driver, Abdur Razzak, of ‘Keya Paribahan’.
Razzak obtained bail after he was produced before a court.
Three female students of the college were killed and 20 others injured when a bus carrying plunged into a roadside ditch after a head-on collision with another bus on Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in front of Katakhali Jute Mills in the suburb area of the city on December 7.
Later, Principle Mohammad Habibur Rahman of the college filed a case against the driver and helper of the bus.
