3 cases filed over C’nawabganj lynch-mob attack

Three separate cases were filed in connection a lynch-mob attack which left four suspected robbers dead in Gomastapur upazila on Wednesday.
The three cases were filed with Gomastapur police station at night, said Firoz Ahmed, officer-in-charge of the police station. Assistant sub-inspector Rezaul Karim filed a case for attempting to commit robbery.
Sub-inspector Ashraf filed a murder case accusing some unnamed men and sub-inspector Saiful Alam filed another case
under the arms act accusing 10/12 robbers. On Wednesday night four suspected robbers were killed and another was injured in a lynch-mob attack in Boalia area of Gomastapur upazila allegedly while trying to lift a motorcycle. The deceased were identified as Golam Rabbani, 40, son of Bazlur Rahman, resident of Kornokhali village of Shibganj upazila, Ator Ali, 40, son of Naim Uddin, Sohel, 30, son of Kaiful Islam, Alamgir, 30, son of Bodor Ali, resident of Durgapur area of Bholahat upazila,
Firoz Ahmed, officer in-charge of Gomastapur Police Station, said a gang of 10/12 bandits intercepted a motorcyclist in Boalia area on Gomastapur-Bholanathpur road around 7:15pm and tried to take it away.
