Spanish Ambassador to Bangladesh, Luis Tejada, called on Minister for Culture Asaduzzaman Noor on Thursday at the latter’s office and discussed matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the minister said that Bangladesh had 39 cultural agreements with as many countries and that a draft for a similar agreement with Spain had been sent through the foreign ministry to the government of Spain.
“We will appreciate a quick response,” the minister told the ambassador. ” It will further reinforce the prevailing good relation between the two countries,” the minister added. He said that Bangladesh had a millennia-old culture and tradition, while Spanish art, literature, music and cinema was extremely vibrant. ” Cultural diplomacy” is a major tool in today’s world, which can brace mutual ties. Apart from culture, the two countries can also cooperate in other fields, too, the minister added.
The Spanish ambassador in his response said, “Bangladesh is a very creative country and the country is developing fast in all areas.”
