Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) in a drive arrested two youth with 5600 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from Shaheed Minar area under city’s Bakalia thana yesterday. .
The arrestees were identified as Abul Hossain,21, and Nasir Uddin,21. Kotwali thana police on secret information conducted a drive at Chittagong central Shaheed Minar area around 6am and arrested them with 5600 pieces of yaba tablets from their possession , said A K M Mohiuddin Selim, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali thana.
The arrestees confessed that besides their study, they had been involved in yaba trading in the city from Teqnaf for long, the OC said adding that a case was filed in this connection.
