Chattogram Port Authority team is picking spreading oil from river Karnaphuli . These oil spread into river following the collision of a oil tanker with a lighter vessel near the No.3 Dolphin oil jetty Two labour boat Bay-cleaner 1 and 2 , Kandari 10, 11 have been engaged with picking of oil from the river. About 4 thousand liters of water mixed oil picked up today upto 10am . Port sources said lighter vessel City-38 collides Oil Tanker Desh-1 on Thursday night last at mid point of the river.
Sensing the news of collision, Kandari-8 rushed to the spot and rounded up both the vessel alongwith 3 workers including master. Port Secretary Md. Omar Faruk told that after the incident of leakage of oil tanker , Port authority team has been engaged to pick up these spread oil from the river.
