Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) submitted a charge sheet to a Dhaka court on Tuesday, accusing 12 people on the charge of killing of Jubo League leader Riazul Haque Khan Milky in 2013.
Qazemur Rashid, Investigation Officer of RAB-1 and Assistant Superintendent of police, submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court. Six persons have
given confessional statement in the case.
The accused are: Zahid Siddique alias Tareq, Shakhawat Hossain Chanchal, Fahima Islam Lopa, Jahangir Mondal, Shahidul Islam, Aminul Islam Habib, Sohel Mahmud, Chunnu Mia, Wahidul Alam Arif, Ibrahim Khalilullah, Rafiqul Islam Chowdhury and Sharif Uddin Chowdury.
Of them, Jahangir Mondal, Shahidul Islam, Aminul Islam Habib, Sohel Mahmud, Chunnu Mia are in jail and Shakhawat Hossain, Wahidul Alam, Ibrahim Khalilullah, Sharif Uddin and Rafiqul Islam are absconding, while Fahima Islam Lopa is on bail.
Among the accused, Juba League leader Zahid Siddiqui Tarek and another suspected terrorist Shah Alam died in an alleged encounter with RAB on August 1, 2013, said General Record officer SI Farid Miah.
In the charge sheet, 26 people have been made witnesses and nine persons have been dropped from the list of the accused, he said.
RAB arrested Lopa, wife of Milky’s driver, and Reza Sagar, close accomplice of Maruf, on August 3. They confessed before a Dhaka court their involvement in the killing.
