Zia Trust graft case shifted to spl judge’s court-5

The High Court Division of the Supreme Court on Wednesday transferred the Zia Charitable Trust graft case to Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 of Judge Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman from the Special Judge Court-3 of Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar. The trial had so far been held in old Dhaka’s Bakshibazar area.
The High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim passed the order hearing a petition filed on behalf of BNP Chairperson
Begum Khaleda Zia for transferring the case from the previous court.
The petition filed on May 15, Khaleda Zia mentioned that the High Court had earlier transferred the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case to another case from the Special Judge Court-3. So the Zia Charitable Trust case could also be shifted to another court.
AJ Mohammad Ali and Zakir Hossain Bhuiyan represented Khaleda Zia during the hearing on Wednesday, while advocate Khurshid Alam Khan appeared in the court on behalf of the ACC.
