Bangladesh Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman earned 1.5 points after the second round games in the Open group of the Asian Continental Chess Championship held in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates on Monday.
In the Women group of the meet, WIM Shamima Akter Liza earned 1 point from 2nd round.
Grandmaster Enamul Hossain Razib of Bangladesh Navy also earned 1 point while his teammate Grandmaster Abdullah Al Rakib earned half point from as many games.
In the 2nd round, Ziaur Rahman, a player of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd, played draw against IM Abdyjapar Asyl of Kyrgyzstan, Razib defeated Abdul Wahhab Ahmed Abdul Sattar of Iraq, Rakib drew with Galappaththi Chinthaka Anurud of Sri Lanka and Liza beat Aseel Odeh of Jordan.
