At least 10 people were killed and 12 others injured in separate road accidents on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Chandina and Dhaka-Rangpur Highway in last 24 hours since Sunday afternoon, police said.
In Comilla, at least seven passengers were killed and eight others injured when a bus skidded off Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Chandina upazila at night.
The Dhaka-bound bus of Tisha Paribahan skidded off the roadside ditch after the driver lost control over the steering in Nuritala area around 12:00, said Anwarullah Mridha, Oficer-in-Charge of Chandina Police Station.
The bodies were sent to Chandina Health Complex, police official said.
In Rangpur, three persons were died and four others injured when a pickup and a truck collided head on at Jaigirhat Bus Stand in Mithapukur upazila area around 4:15am on Monday, said Borodoroga Highway Police Outpost OC Hafizur Rahman.
The pickup was carrying eight to ten passengers from Rangpur to Bogra when it crashed into a fertilizer ladden truck speeding from the opposite direction.
Three died on the spot and four others injured were admitted to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital, said the OC.
