A youth was gunned down at Ananda Bazer area of Netrakona district town here on Friday night.
Police and local people said, the dead was identified as Anjan Kumar Das Buttu, 33, son of Ganga Coran Das of cooperative bank road in the town.
Buttu received bullet injury while he was reportedly sitting inside of his friend’s chamber at the Ananda bazer area. After the gun-firing incident, the critically injured Buttu was sent to Mymensing medical college hospital by his friends.
Later, he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in a comatose position where attending doctors declared him dead, the sources said adding that the DMCH doctors retrieved a bullet from the dead body.
When contacted Additional Police Super , Netrakona Habibur Rahman Pramanik told the New Nation correspondent here yesterday that police picked up one person namely Bablu from Mymensing Medical College Hospital area suspecting his involvement in the killing incident.
Police have already interrogated local people at the place of occurrence and started vigorous investigation to unearth the actual clue of the killing incident, he said.
