Youth forces vow to work for turning villages into town

Joining a daylong big gathering large number of youths expressed their firm determination of working together for turning villages into town in phases.
They also expressed their solidarity to the announcement of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that all the villages will be transformed into towns through providing them with urban facilities.
Bangladesh Resource Centre for Indigenous Knowledge (BARCIK) hosted the programe at conference hall of Shishu Academy in the city yesterday with the theme of ‘Youth Solidarity for Rural and Urban Development Justice’.
More than 300 leaders and member of 24 youth organizations, who are involved in various benevolent activities here, took part in the youth conference.
Language Veteran Abul Hossain, valiant Freedom Fighter Dr Abdul Mannan, Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Abu Ahmad Al Mamun, District Children Affairs Officer Monjur Kader, President of Save the Nature Mijanur Rahman, BARCIK Coordinator Towhidul Alam and its regional coordinator Shahidul Islam addressed the meeting as resource persons inspiring the youths towards their humanitarian activities.
Addressing the meeting many of the participating youths advocated for reducing the existing regional disparity for overall development of the nation. They viewed that the process of transfusing the urban amenities towards villages should be expedited so that the public in general can feel comfortable in staying villages.
In his remarks, language veteran Abul Hossain called for making the local government institutions competent and corruption-free so that the village people can get their requisite services in hustle-free atmosphere. He urged the youths to play due role to build illiteracy-free villages side by side with making the primary schools more effective.
