World Jr Bridge Bangladesh in 20th position after 13th round

Bangladesh national junior bridge team, now participating in the World Youth Team Bridge Championship for the first time, are in 20th position scoring 83.10 after the 13 round matches held in the Italian small town of Salsomaggiore Terme on Monday.
President of Bangladesh Bridge Federation and leader of Bangladesh team Mushfiqur Rahman Mohan in a message said Bangladesh expecting 15th place in the world junior meet.
Bangladesh will play another eight round matches in the 22-team competition to achieve their target.
Number one team USA dominated the meet scoring 187.20, followed by Norway with a score of 183.01, Netherlands with 177.91 and China with 173.91.
A five-member Bangladesh team comprising four players-Biswajit Saha, Rafsan Siddiqui, Amirul Islam, Rashedul Hasan-and one official – Bridge Federation President Mushfiqur Rahman Mohan- left the capital for Italy last Wednesday to participate in their first ever World Youth Teams’ Bridge Championship.
Twenty-two teams from 21 countries-England, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Canada, the USA, Argentina, Colombia, India, Bangladesh, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, Hungary, Egypt and Germany-will compete in the world youth meet.
There are four events in the World Championship-the Jaime Ortiz-Patiño Trophy for Junior Teams, the José Damiani Cup for Youngsters Teams, the Gianarrigo Rona Trophy for Girls Teams and the Koç University Trophy for Kids Teams.
