A construction worker died and two others were injured as the roof of an old building collapsed on them at Bheronbaria village of Nalciti upazila on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rubel Hossain, 22, son of Md Motahar Khan, resident of Kamdabpur village of the upazila.
Abdus Salam, Rampasha union parishad chairman, said that a part of the roof of the building collapsed while a group of workers were working on the roof around 10:30am, leaving Rubel dead and two other workers Lablu, 28 and Monir Hossain, 27, critically injured.
The injured were admitted at Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
